Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority Obtains ISO Certification for Business Continuity Management

Riyadh, The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZTCA) and seven border crossing points have obtained the ISO 22301:2019 Certification for Business Continuity Management from the British Standards Institution (BSI).

The ZTCA said in a statement that the Customs Operations Center, the border crossings and the agency's main departments have won the ISO Certification after meeting all the accreditation requirements and standards, including primarily putting in place high-level strategies to ensure business continuity and solutions to handle specific risks and impacts relevant to continuity and adopting systematic approaches to mitigate accident impacts and minimize business disruption.

The agency said that the crossings that received the ISO Certification are the Customs Services at the King Khaled International Airport, Dry Port, Customs Jeddah Islamic Port, Al-Hadithah Border Station Customs, Al-Batha Border Crossing Customs, Al-Khafji Customs and King Fahd Causeway Customs. The ZTCA also said that it is working now on qualifying all its affiliated centers and border crossings for the ISO 22301 Certification, adding that meeting all the international standards would be of immeasurable impact on enhancing the trust of stakeholders in its operations.

ISO 22301 specifies requirements to implement maintain and improve a management system which enables organizations to prepare for disruptive incidents that might otherwise prevent them from achieving their objectives.
