Syrian-Omani talks on mutual cooperation in antiquities and museums

Muscat, Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mushawah, discussed Saturday with the directors of Omani National Museum ways to develop joint cooperation.

Mshaweh, who is on a working visit to the Sultanate of Oman, toured the museum’s departments, which includes 14 halls and large number of exhibits, and valuable antiquities.

Dr. Mona bint Fahd Al Said, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Museum and the Assistance of rector of Sultan Qaboos University for International Cooperation briefed Mushawah on explanation about Museum.

Dr. Mona indicated that the museum displays artifacts from different eras and is considered an important educational center for visitors and researchers the Sultanate of Oman.

Mshaweh also discussed with the curator of the museum methods of exhibition in modern museums and the cooperation between the National Museum of Oman and the Syrian Directorate of Antiquities and Museums, stressing the need to overcome all difficulties that may hamper the work and cooperation of the two sides in this field.

It is noteworthy that 175 Syrian antiquities were restored and displayed in the National Museum of Oman.
