Syria participates in virtual UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development

Damascus, Syria participated in a virtual conference via internet held by UNESCO on world education /2021/ for sustainable development.

Education Minister , Head of the Syrian National Committee for UNESCO , Darem Tabaa, stressed that the Syrian government, presented by Education Ministry, worked during the years of war on Syria to preserve the education system and avoid its collapse in addition to supporting it with all possible means to keep the generations’ future.

Tabaa pointed out that the Ministry worked during the spread of Corona outbreak on the appropriate planning for all measures that ensure the safety of students and teachers alike, and keeping the educational process through activating the role of the Health School Directorate and developing a comprehensive health protocol based on scientific research.

The Minister stressed that ,through the continuous follow up, the infections among school students remained within the minimum limits, as the total infections number in schools reached only 2795 ones ,of which 1030 among students and 1765 among teachers.
