KSA’s representative and head of the donor group to support UN OCHA, meets with a Swedish official

The Hague, Assistant General Supervisor of the Riyadh-based King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) for Planning and Development Dr. Aqeel Al-Ghamdi, has headed the donor group to support the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) in Geneva, it was reported today.

During the mission, Dr. Al-Ghamdi and the accompanying delegation met on the sidelines of a high-level meeting of the donor group in The Hague yesterday with Fredrick LEE-OHLSSON, Head of the Humanitarian Affairs Division and UN Policy of the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, and his accompanying delegation, .

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Ghamdi gave a full presentation to the Swedish representative on the Saudi Arabia’s steps taken in preparation for its presidency of the donor group, including extensive research of previous presidencies, and evaluations that were carried out for the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and multiple consultations with major donors, welcoming the joint bilateral cooperation with Sweden in this regard.

For his part, Frederick expressed his country's interest in bilateral cooperation with Saudi Arabia during its presidency of the donor group, especially in the proactive humanitarian work and assessment of humanitarian needs, as well as coordination with KSrelief regarding the third Riyadh Humanitarian Forum to be held in February 2023.
