At least five people were killed and eight wounded in an armed attack in the Ecuadorian city of Guayaquil.
Police reported that the incident occurred when three men fired inside a house in Guayaquil, one of the cities most affected by crime and drug trafficking in Ecuador.
Colonel Favari Montalvo said in a press statement that so far they have counted five dead and eight injured, explaining that one of the dead was a policeman who was shot several times in the head.
Since early April, a state of emergency has been declared in Guayaquil, allowing the army to take to the streets and implement a curfew, due to increased violence in the city.
