China: US should end its military presence in Syria, lift coercive measures

Beijing, China once again called for withdrawal the US occupation forces from the Syrian territory, stressing the illegitimacy of these forces and the atrocity of their crimes.

“It is horrific to see the massive scale of US looting in Syria, which was continuing while the country was trying to get out of the crisis, which has lasted for more than a decade, and a serious humanitarian crisis facing its people, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Zhao Lijian said during a press conference on Sunday.

Lijian pointed out that the repeated US interference, especially the military one caused massive losses among civilians and economic losses, in addition to the displacement of millions of people.

The spokesman pointed out that the U.S imposed harsh economic coercive measures on Syria, depriving its people of their basic needs for life and hindering the economic development and reconstruction in the country.

He added that until today, the US forces still control the oil, natural gas and other state’s resources, and they still occupy the main oil fields, as they looted more than 80 percent of the country’s oil production , as well as they burned and stole the wheat stocks in Syria, which exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in it.

The spokesman stressed that the US must end its illegal military presence and operations in Syria, lift unilateral measures, stop stealing oil and grain, and return the wealth to the Syrian people.
