Bathily: I discussed with the Follow-up Committee on Political Prisoners national reconciliation and transitional justice.

The UN Envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, met yesterday in Tripoli with a number of members of the Follow-up Committee on Political Prisoners representing different communities and Libyan regions.

"I listened to their views on national reconciliation and transitional justice processes and their concerns over the situation of detainees, and I stressed the need to hold free, credible, and inclusive elections." Bathily said in a tweet.

"I also recalled the ongoing efforts by the Presidential Council, the AU, UNSMIL, and other partners on national reconciliation and emphasized the centrality of human rights in the UN’s work with Libyan partners." He added.
