6th International Conference on Disability & Rehabilitation to Discuss over 90 Scientific Papers Presented by Researchers from 30 Countries

Riyadh, The 6th International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation, held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and organized by the King Salman Center for Disability Research at Al-Faisal University in Riyadh between December 4 and 6, will discuss more than 90 scientific papers presented by specialized researchers in disability from over 30 countries.

Participants will present several research findings on disability issues for research and application, which will include health, education, rehabilitation and support services, technical integration and innovation, media and disability, as well as issues related to empowerment between childhood and youth, which also include transitional programs, sector integration (national initiatives and programs), technical integration and innovation, and inclusive access.

In its sixth edition, the conference attracts an international scientific gathering that will build on broad scientific perspectives to bring about qualitative transfers in all disability-related areas, in a bid to make it a (exceptionally) distinctive conference that aims to enhance the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's status and contributes to the realization of Saudi Vision 2030 through the empowerment of persons with disabilities and their qualification for the labor market. The conference is also in line with the strategic objectives of the Quality of Life Program, including the provision of all facilities and infrastructure for the use of persons with disabilities, the development of sports suitable for persons with disabilities in educational institutions and the empowerment of persons with disabilities, integrating them into society, improving their lifestyle and enabling them to have adequate employment opportunities and education that guarantees their independence, integration as effective members in society, and providing them with all the facilities and tools that can help them achieve success, as well as to promote digital health.

The conference's main sessions will be accompanied by workshops and scientific lectures, accompanying exhibitions on King Salman Center for Disability Research, Children with Disability Association, partners and relevant specialized companies.

The opening ceremony coincides with the handing over the King Salman International Award for Disability Research in its third session to the winners, which aims at highlighting the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in serving issues of disability and persons with disabilities, benefiting from local, regional and international expertise in disability research field, as well as getting acquainted with the reality of scientific research in disability, highlighting the role of the private sector and center partners in supporting scientific research and providing treatment and rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities, in addition to instilling the concept of partnerships and cooperation among local, regional and international research centers.

Organizing the sixth edition of the conference complements the five previous conferences, which have been successful in their recommendations that have contributed to improving services provided for persons with disabilities, and the state's adoption of a number of national programs that serve this group of people and contribute to solving their problems and improving the quality of their life.
