SHANKITI CONVEYS TO HASSAN WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION’S PRAISE: DECLINE IN THE NUMBER OF CASES IN LEBANON IS GOOD AT THE GEOGRAPHICAL, DISEASE TRANSMISSION LEVELS

Minister of Public Health, Hamad Hassan, held a meeting in his office today with the representative of the World Health Organization in Lebanon, Iman al-Shankiti, which was also attended by the Ministry’s Director General, Walid Ammar, where talks centered on the coordination between the Health Ministry and the WHO, and the latest developments related to the Corona epidemic.

In this context, al-Shankiti conveyed to Minister Hassan the Organization’s praise for the efforts made by the Ministry of Public Health, and for its decisions and measures taken to counter the COVID-19 epidemic.

“Lebanon is one of the few countries that pursue the containment policy, and the situation here is good, as the country is still in the third stage of the epidemic outbreak,” Shankiti said, considering that “the decline in cases is a good development at the geographical and transmission of infection levels.”
