In a statement issued by former Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s Press Office today, it indicated the following:
Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri asked the Legal Representative of the Victims in the Special Tribunal for Lebanon to inform the STL of the tweet of MP Jamil Al-Sayyed on Saturday, April 11, in which he deviously acknowledged that he received the sum of 27 million US dollars for the killing of martyr Prime Minister Rafic Hariri.
The tweet of MP Al-Sayyed is additional evidence that his statement before the Tribunal aimed at misleading the Tribunal and hiding the truth, which in itself represents a separate crime that requires prosecution. And the foolish challenge included in the tweet is evidence of his cowardly hiding behind a parliamentary immunity lavished on him by the team that made him an MP to protect him from any accountability.
Accordingly, the Future Parliamentary Bloc is studying a request to lift his parliamentary immunity in preparation for his prosecution before the competent court.
