Riyadh, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Energy, confirmed that the mechanisms of carbon capture, use, and storage in the circular carbon economy model achieve economic and environmental benefits that help achieve goals in the targeted fields simultaneously.

Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud patronized today the International Conference on Carbon Capture, Use and Storage (iCCUS 2020) in partnership with Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

At the opening of the conference Minister of Energy said that it is time to redouble efforts in carbon capture, storage and use, indicating that technological development will play a pivotal role in finding effective solutions to challenge carbon emissions, as well as its contribution to providing clean fuels and the production of high-value feedstocks, to provide useful products.

The Minister of Energy reviewed the Kingdom's initiatives in the field of combating climate change, noting that it is an active and responsible member of the various international community initiatives to confront climate change.

He also indicated that the Kingdom at the same time is investing in developing new technologies for clean energy solutions that include carbon capture, use and storage technology, and that some of these investments already exist and make a significant difference.
