President Michel Aoun on Tuesday received a written letter of appreciation from his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas, touching on the current situation in the region and the latest developments regarding the Palestinian Cause.

The letter was delivered by Palestinian Ambassador to Lebanon, Ashraf Dabbour, who visited Baabda palace today.

The letter included the Palestinian President's highlight of the solid and unwavering relations between the Palestinian and Lebanese people, stressing on the importance of the joint Arab action to face dangers jeopardizing the Palestinian Cause.

"Despite the difficult and intricate situation in our region, the hope of liberation, independence and peace remains our biggest concern," Abbas wrote.

On a different note, Aoun handed Dabbour an invitation to Abbas to attend the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, to be held in January in Beirut.

Separately, Aoun met with MP Salim Aoun over an array of developmental affairs relevant to Bekaa and Zahle.

He also received former minister Wiam Wahhab with whom he discussed developmental issues relevant to Chouf.
