The Russian Embassy in Lebanon confirmed in a statement that Russia continues to work diligently for the return of the displaced Syrians."

"During the meeting of the Russian-Syrian operations room for the return of refugees, held on September 26 in Moscow, Major General Evgeny Ilin stated that 1 million 470,000 displaced persons have returned to their homes in cooperation with several countries and international organizations," statement read.

Statement added: "Reconstruction of infrastructure facilities is underway, including 138 schools, 116 kindergartens, 109 bakeries, 113 water pumping stations, 119 electrical substations, 106 clinics, 1468 residences, and 79 institutes and universities."

"Russian institutions and diplomatic missions continue to work actively to rally international efforts to facilitate the return of the displaced Syrians," the embassy said.

Statement went on to say: "The representatives of the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Syrian National Security Office confirmed in the context of discussions with the Russian side, readiness to resolve the issues which are complicating the voluntary return of the displaced Syrians, through the establishment of an interdepartmental action group to help the Syrian government improve the regulatory framework."

The Embassy stressed that it continues to work systematically to assist the Lebanese authorities in the return of the displaced Syrians to their homeland.
