BAGHDAD, The Ministerial Council for National Security held an emergency meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces , Haider Al-Abadi to discuss the security situation.

The council discussed the repercussions of what has happened in some areas of sabotage by infiltrators , noting that while the Ministerial Council for National Security meets with the right to peaceful demonstration and the legitimate demands of demonstrators, the government is working through the utmost efforts to provide services for citizens, our security and intelligence services have monitored small and organized groups try to benefit from the peaceful demonstration of citizens to sabotage and attack state institutions and private property. Our forces will take all deterrent measures against these infiltrators and prosecute them according to the law. "

The council confirmed that "The protection of citizens and state property is the duty of our heroic security forces, which provided victims for the liberation of the territories and defeated the terrorist Daesh gangs. They are still pursuing the terrorist cells in Salahuddin, Diyala, Nineveh, Anbar and the border with Syria. We call upon the citizens to cooperate with them in order to uncover infiltrators and to achieve security and stability.
