Baghdad, The Acting Minister of Trade, Salman al-Jumaili discussed with a delegation of the World Food Program the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding in order to benefit from the expertise of the WFP to develop the ministry's staff.

"The Ministry of Trade is ready to cooperate with the program in developing its cadres in order to enable them to perform their tasks better by adopting the mechanisms and modern technologies in the work," Jumaili said during a meeting with WFP delegation headed by Sally Haydock," expressing his appreciation to the WFP for supporting Iraqi government. "

For its part, Sally Haydock called to "identify the objectives and programs needed by the Iraqi side in the development of the capabilities of workers in the Ministry of Trade, so that the WFP cooperates with the ministry to achieve those goals."

She pointed out "the need for simplification of operations through electronic credit, revealing that the WFP will take over the development of capacity in three branches selected by the Ministry of Trade and the development process takes about two years, stressing" the readiness of the WFP to start work after the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two sides.
