BAGHDAD The PM of the Kurdistan Regional Government discussed with the new Ambassador to Iraq, Jowan Lawins, on Monday coordination and cooperation between Erbil and Baghdad to confront terrorism.

During the meeting, Ambassador Lawins appreciated the confrontation of the Peshmerga and the people and government of the Kurdistan region for terrorism, protecting the components and receiving a large number of displaced persons and refugees escaping the oppression of terrorism.

She expressed the desire of her country to strengthen relations with the Kurdistan region, noting that the Erbil - Baghdad dialogue and solve some problems, leading to the return of confidence to the region and is an incentive for the owners of capital in her country to invest in various areas in the Kurdistan region and Iraq.

For his part, Barzani pointed to the importance of relations with Australia, and to the wide areas available in the Kurdistan Region for the reconstruction of other parts of Iraq, especially with the stability in the Kurdistan region and appropriate investment laws, which will be of great importance for the future of Iraq.

He highlighted the elections and the post-election phase, the ongoing coordination and cooperation between Erbil and Baghdad to prevent the recurrence of violence, and the positive steps taken to resolve the problems, hoping for further progress in these steps.
